About this position
Postdoc to join the Division of Food and Nutrition Science, Department of Life Sciences, contributing to research in nutritional metabolomics.
Reference number: REF 2026-0436.
About us
The Division of Food and Nutrition Science has strengths in nutritional and computational metabolomics, dietary biomarkers, and related food and nutrition areas, with modern chromatography–mass spectrometry facilities.
About the research project
Diet effects are partly mediated by small molecules in foods and microbiota metabolism. Short-chain fatty acids from gut fermentation are analytically challenging. The group has developed a quantitative LC-MS/MS method for SCFA in different matrices; the method is further developed to include other fermentation-derived metabolites and used on thousands of samples.
What you will do
- Maintain and further develop a quantitative SCFA method across sample matrices (plasma, faeces, saliva, breast milk, etc.)
- Conduct research with the method in collaboration with students, doctoral students and other postdocs
- Drive quality assurance, documentation, and present results internally and externally
- Supervise master’s and/or PhD students to a certain extent; possibility to teach
Contract terms
Temporary full-time employment for two years with possibility of one-year extension. Physical presence required; valid residence permit by start date.
Application procedure
English PDF application (CV with publications and teaching; personal letter). Applications reviewed continuously; interviews may occur before the deadline. Apply via the official Chalmers vacancy page.
Deadline: 2026-09-21.
