Research Fellow - Postdoctoral Researcher Research Fellow - Postdoctoral Researcher Closing Date: 2026-09-22T22:59:59.000Z The Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS) at UCL brings together a diverse community of academics, clinicians, and students dedicated to advancing understanding of the mind, behaviour and language. Our work spans the full breadth of psychology and language sciences—including behavioural and cognitive neuroscience, language and cognition, learning and memory, and therapeutic interventions—and is underpinned by a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Through our research and teaching, we aim to address some of the most pressing challenges facing individuals and societies today, such as climate change, mental health, inequality and social conflict. The Experimental Psychology department within PALS consists of internationally recognised scholars and a diverse population of graduate students and researchers. We are engaged in groundbreaking studies that are investigating theoretically important questions and bringing their work to bear on society’s most pressing needs. This role involves research in a cognitive neuroscience laboratory, including brain imaging analysis, and brain data collection. As such, this position requires working on campus in a lab from time to time. It also involves travel to conferences and meetings to support funders. This role is eligible for hybrid working. This candidate is expected to make an intellectual contribution to the scholarship of felt safety post trauma, inter-group conflict, violence, and displacement, as well as possess the technical skills to complete functional and structural analysis of large brain imaging data sets. The candidate should aspire to being an academic researcher, and is expected to present at and attend conferences, supervise doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s students, assist with teaching when on offer, interact with funders, publish manuscripts, and conduct high-quality scientific research.
