Are you excited about shaping the urban water systems of the future? Join us in a Dutch research project where your analysis of urban water system innovations will support decision-making.
Join TU Delft and help design hydrogen-resistant steels for a sustainable energy future. As a PhD researcher, you will unravel the atomic-scale mechanisms of hydrogen embrittlement in compositionally complex recycled steels, using density functional theory and machine-learned interatomic potentials, in close collaboration with leading academic partners and Tata Steel.
Shape intelligent control and coordination in future complex systems, from sustainable energy grids to autonomous mobility. In this ERC-funded PD project, you develop cutting-edge game-theoretic control and optimization methods.

For our new NWO Cooperation Indonesia - Netherlands Merian Fund project “The Urban-Ocean Nexus: Towards Developing Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Blue Economy in Indonesia and the Netherlands” at the International Development Studies (IDS) section of Human Geography and Spatial Planning Department, we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher.
In Huntington’s Disease (HD), expansion of CAG repeats in the huntingtin (HTT) gene leads to a toxic gain-of-function that ultimately results in fatal neurodegeneration. HD research has long focused on the toxic effects of the HTT-encoded polyglutamine protein that aggregates in neurons. However, recent discoveries reveal that the HTT mRNA itself forms condensates and aggregates, contributing to neuronal toxicity. In this project, your work will help define the origins of RNA toxicity in HD - a critical step toward developing therapies.
Join the Mathematical Institute of Utrecht University! As Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics. you’ll develop your research programme, inspire students and advance education. Collaborating closely with colleagues and students, you’ll apply mathematics to tackle societal challenges and bring new data-driven modelling, experiment, and computer-aided mathematics into education. We welcome applicants from all areas of applied mathematics.
Microscopic calcite (CaCO3) shells of plankton sink through ocean waters to the seafloor by the trillions each year, taking along essential nutrients such as phosphorus (P). Ocean acidification is likely to alter global CaCO3 fluxes, with so far unknown consequences for P cycling, ocean fertility and CO2 uptake. Our lack of knowledge regarding these feedbacks limits our insight in ocean functioning under environmental change, both in the (ancient) past and the human-impacted future.
In the context of a NWO-KIC grant “Materials for defense”, we will investigate fluidic/chemical routes enabling a new generation of porous, graded, and composite materials. We are assembling a team of excellent and highly motivated scientists, who will together investigate and advance the fluid mechanics, the resin formulation, the mechanical properties, and process integration during Direct Bubble Writing. This novel additive manufacturing process for polymer foams was recently invented and patented by the University of Twente. The team will closely interact with ten project partners, includi
Are you inspired to push the limits of materials for safer and lighter protection systems? Join us to develop innovative ceramic-based systems that redefine lightweight protection performance.
You will be working within an international team of Dutch research institutes (UvA, the Naturalis Biodiversity Center, NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research) and the German Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) for Polar and Sea Research on an ambitious project entitled: Plumbing the biological pump: Linking missing carbon flows between pelagic and benthic ecosystems in a changing Arctic Ocean (C-CONNECT).
The Biosystems Data Analysis (BDA) group at the University of Amsterdam is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to develop and rigorously benchmark quantum-computing approaches for high-impact problems in bioinformatics.
