About this position
Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD candidate to join the Taminiau Lab investigating the high-fidelity and scalable control of qubits based on spins associated to atomic defects in solids, including in diamond and silicon carbide. One key challenge towards larger quantum networks for quantum communication and distributed quantum computation is to realize extremely high-fidelity quantum control, in ways that are compatible with scaling to hundreds to thousands of qubits. In this research, we aim to realize high-fidelity control through a combination of quantum gate design and precise understanding of the spin physics (i.e. the Hamiltonian and noise processes in the material).
The Taminiau Lab is an international and collaborative group where people from different backgrounds work closely together, share ideas openly, and support each other's development. We value diversity, teamwork, and creating an environment where everyone can contribute and grow.
Requirements
- You have a MSc in science in (applied) physics, quantum technologies, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- You are highly motivated to work on quantum physics and quantum control.
- Relevant experience in experimental quantum physics (e.g. with spins or superconducting systems) is appreciated but not essential.
TU Delft (Delft University of Technology)
